In the Mexican popular tradition, the Days of the Dead begin since October 28th. A room in the house is prepared specially to host the offering, with a clean bed and a table set with their favorite food and beverages, with flowers –Cempazuchiles, and aromatic fruits to make their visit pleasant, ready to receive the souls of the deceased. That day at 12 noon enter the souls of those deceased by accident or violent causes.

On the 29th at noon the "Limbos" arrive, they are the infants that died before been baptised. On the 30th the souls of the children and youth arrive, they are received with toys and candies on the offering. Finally, on the 31st, all the deceased by all causes arrive.

This year the offering is dedicated to the victims of the tragedy of September 11th and the persons that died by violence in the City of New York. Particularly all the Latino workers at the World Trade Center that lost their lives with the attacks.

The offerings done year by year at Asociación Tepeyac of New York conmemorate not only the physicall death of our fellow mexicans as they cross the border. We remark and remember with our offering the death in life of the immigrants that have working days of 14 and 18 hours, 7 days a week.
